Northern Spring Canoe Camp
Annual spring canoe camp and a wedding! Enjoy a beautiful weekend marathon paddling, canoe races, teachings from Marathon Canoe connoisseurs Solomon Carriere, Trever Robinson and Ivan English.
What is a Spring Canoe Training Camp?
It is the opportunity to marathon paddle long distances, on a varied river. It is a chance to exchange questions and ideas on paddling, practice buoy turns, moving your canoe in shallow water, trim your canoe properly, and paddle with other marathon canoe enthusiasts. You will be paddling partway upstream when you paddle home on Monday, May 18. So, bring your excitement for canoeing, a paddle, a canoe (or share one), your water and munchies and paddle intensely for the long weekend in May. All the food will be provided, some cabins, the sauna, and some tents.
- The motorboat will be at “Dale Martin’s Landing” at 3:00 pm Friday, May 15 to carry any extra goods, (and Wally’s chips). You paddle into the camp 4 hours downstream from Dale Martens. Supper will be waiting for you when you arrive.
